Taste is a mater of, well, taste. So when it comes to pairing food and wine, no one need be constrained by hard and fast rules. The flavors of different food can greatly influence your perception of wine and, conversely, different wines can impact your enjoyment of a dish. In this seminar, Wine Library TV's Gary Vaynerchuk will lead a tasting of red and white wines from around the world paired with the same plate of wild mushroom ravioli with truffles and sage demi-glace prepared by Chef Michael Gilligan of W South Beach. Some wines will compliment the food better than others, but you can bet that not everyone will agree on which wine works best. Sample each wine with and without the food to learn about both wine pairing and your own unique tastes.
