A self-described student of “the school of hard knocks,” bartaco’s Culinary Director Jonathan Rohland focuses on food quality, training, and people development. Jonathan began his culinary career at John Harvard’s Brew House in Atlanta, where he was quickly promoted to Executive Chef. In 2000, he became the Culinary Leader for the Washington D.C. and Southeast regions of Nordstrom’s restaurant division before moving to their Washington, Alaska, and Canada markets of Nordstrom. Jonathan joined the bartaco team in spring of 2015.

What is your earliest memory involving food or wine?
My earliest memory is of my mom cooking the kitchen -- making biscuits, as all true Southern cooks! Nothing like the smell of biscuits and bacon in the morning...
If this is your first year participating in SOBEWFF, what are you most looking forward to?
I am most looking forward to interacting with other chefs. meeting new people, learning about their restaurants. And of course, eating some great food.
