Andres Barrientos is a Miami native who discovered his love for cooking and hospitality as a young child in the kitchen next to his Mother and Grandmother. This ignited a thirst for culinary creativity that was refined with classical training at Johnson & Wales University. This curriculum laid the foundation for his future endeavors. Over the next decade Andres traveled and fueled his passion for adventure while learning about food first hand from people, places and experiences. In 2010 Andres landed back in Miami and assumed the position of Executive Chef at Aarons Catering. His talents and life experiences radiated out of his work, and Aarons Catering garnered numerous industry accolades and Cater Source speaking engagements. The Food Network and Scott Conants prime time show "24 Hour Restaurant Battle" provided a larger platform for Andres to demonstrate his skills leading to a successful win in the competition. 2012 brought more exposure for Andres with the launch of Miami Smokers - Urban Smokehouse and the wildly popular Basel Biergarten in Wynwood, Miami. Since then Miami Smokers has opened a smokehouse and deli in Little Havana, and is recognized as a destination for the best pork in the Magic City; while Andres is constantly cooking up new concepts that bring awareness to the food we eat.
